👤If you have a large dog that needs to get into a truck or SUV, these are worth it. My dog used them with no hesitation. He was happy to wait for them to be placed and then walk up the hill. Like normal stairs.

👤135 pound or 150 pound animals attempt to use the canvas/plastic over the flimsy aluminum frame as it cracks and snaps as it is used for the steps. The steps need to be replaced with something that is durable.

👤It's strong enough for Rottweilers and lightweight for old people. If they weighed twice as much. I would still be happy. We use them to load our dogs into their crates in our Honda CR-V and then put them on our bed. The stairs fold/unfold easily, attach securely, and can be stowed in a small area. The stairs at the back hatch and side door are shown in the photos above. I rigged a strap to hold the stairs steady because of the side door opening. Works well. There are other products that cost more and weigh more. These work well for us.

👤I received the Luffwell portable stairs the next day. The SUV is 31" high at the rear entry. The steps are light and easy to use. Behind my front seat is where I keep the steps. I have a 10yr old lab mix who has joint issues due to having lyme disease as a puppy. Picking him up to get into the car was taxing my back and sometimes painful for my dog. These steps are wonderful. He needed some help to use them but after he saw he could do it on his own, he almost went up the stairs. My other 2 dogs are too young to need them until they are older. Happy dog and owner! These steps are recommended by me.

👤We needed something to get our golden retriever out of the car after we switched to a new car. We wanted a sturdy vehicle that wouldn't take up too much space in the vehicle when not in use. The portable pet steps were the answer. It took a couple of days of gentle training, plus her favorite cheese as a reward, but she now goes up/down without hesitation and the steps are stable. Our golden retriever, who is about 80 pounds, has no movement on the steps when she is on them. This product is a great way to get your pet into your vehicle.

👤The stairs are perfect for my Golden to get in and out of the car. I tried a ramp but he wasn't on it. The first time he used the stairs, he used some treats and was very comfortable with them. They're easy to setup, lightweight, and easy to lift in and out of the car. I keep them in the back of my car when my dog is in it. The back of the Crosstrek is reached by the 5 stair step. Would definitely recommend!

2. Maxpama Increased Nonslip Steps Trucks

Maxpama Increased Nonslip Steps Trucks

👤The pet staircase has changed the game. Trying to get our dogs up and down from the back of a truck has been a challenge. We would have to lift them the rest of the way after they got their paws up on the tailgate. We didn't want them to keep straining themselves while jumping down because it was very hard on their bodies. The tailgate ladder is easy to use. It folds up very easily. It is not difficult to expand all the way out because of the full stair length. My arms don't reach all the way so I have to extend them. The cloth type step material is strong. It doesn't appear that nails are a risk to it. We haven't found a good anchor point to hold it in place. We hold the arms in place on the tailgate so they don't slip off. The arms have a foam on them that makes it easy to slip on. As we use it more, we'll feel more confident in that aspect, but for now, that's the only reason I marked it a 4 star. I am thankful to have a light, slim, and easy option for our pups and I think this ladder will hold up over time.

👤There are a lot of good things about these stairs. My pittie is 65 pounds and needs to get into the back of my car. They are easy to carry around with a strap, but they never leave my vehicle. They're small enough to leave in the cargo area. The material keeps her from sliding, which I was worried about with some of the plastic stairs I found. I noticed that my girl was having a harder time getting in the Jeep when she was tired after our walks. She walks up the steps into the vehicle. The stairs required a small amount of training. I put some small treats on each step to get her up the first two times, and then I held a treat in front of her and told her to go up the stairs again. If you have a vehicle that sits higher, I recommend these stairs.

👤A life saver. I needed this product months ago and couldn't find it on the market, so I bought different ramps that didn't work. I need something to go up to the truck bed for my large dogs, and none of the other brands think of trucks as SUVs. Thank you for resolving my problem. My dog is older, and it's not good for dogs to be jumping in and out at any age, and I can't lift my dogs, so you solved the problem. This product is light to handle and sturdy for large dogs. Big trucks and big dogs are real issues and a great product. Quality made excellant is the best product out there.

👤Stitching in some areas was different. Had to return for a new one. This is the first item we had to pay for. I have never had to do that before.

3. AmazonBasics Tri Fold Plastic Pet Ramp

AmazonBasics Tri Fold Plastic Pet Ramp

Pets can access hard-to-reach places with the help of a pet ramp. Universal grip works with any car, SUV, truck, or edge to ensure a stay-in-place platform for all four paws. A simple set-up is required for the tri-fold design. The grip is made of PP plastic. It's easy to store and carry and wipes are clean with a damp cloth. The dimensions are 63 x 18.3 x 3.9 inches. The folded dimensions are 28.9 x 18.1 x 4.8 inches.

Brand: Amazon Basics

👤I bought this to help my dog after he had a surgery. She learned how to use it well after the initial training, walking up and down until one evening when she came up it and it snapped in half. She fell and landed on her back. I've never been so calm. I have a large ramp and she is only 40-45 lbs, there is no reason it should have snapped like that. She is not close to the weight limit. Don't buy. This product is dangerous.

👤Two old dogs need assistance with the stairs. This works well for them. I put 2 nails in the space between the bricks at the bottom to make sure the ramp didn't slide.

👤It needs traction. My dog likes to slide.

👤It was not possible to get to the truck of my SUV. The ramp was too steep for my pit bull to get up in the trunk and she tore herACL. We were still looking for something to help us get her in. It was lightweight and sturdy, but not long enough to be folded.

👤My older small dog needs a ramp to get around. It was easy to use. Not slippery. My dog was unable to climb up the steps due to his arthritis, so it saved Mom's back.

👤This is a small ramp. It was easy to fold out. I returned because it wouldn't work with my vehicle, my slanted driveway and my fat bulldog.

👤My dog has a hard time getting around these days so I thought this ramp would be great to help him up and down the stairs. He wanted nothing to do with the plastic after his foot hit it. It didn't feel strong enough to support 70 lbs. It might be nice to have a softer material on the treds. This would be great for a dog with short nails. Not for an old man who doesn't want to be involved in any new shenanigans.

👤My dog could get on and off the bed. It works well. The ramp can be taken on the go. I put the top section of the ramp in between the mattress and box spring so that it doesn't stick out from the bed. If anyone needs to know how tall my bed is, it's 2'7" from the floor to the top. The end of the ramp is 3' from the edge of the bed. She doesn't have to worry about slipping on the traction bars even when it's wet because she has the carpet or grip tape on her ramp. I was a little annoyed at the price but now feel like it was worth it. Thanks!

👤Exactly as described. The ramp is sturdy and supports our 125 LB Akita perfectly. The ramp folds up to fit in the rear seat floor area of the SUV. The ramp has ridges. We put strips of tape on his paws. The plastic on his paws is slippery when wet. The ramp arrived a day ahead of schedule and we are 100% satisfied.

4. Kurgo Wander Collapsible Ramp Fold

Kurgo Wander Collapsible Ramp Fold

The stress level is low. The dog car ramp is designed to be a low-stress entry point for your pets, no matter their age or physical condition. It's recommended for pets with old-age, arthritis and hip dysplasia. The lightweight design isdurable. The 10-pound pet ramp is lightweight and can be used to transport and store. The ramp folds in half to make space-saving storage possible. Non-sLIP surface. The dog ramp for car is easy to use because of its incline and non-slip surface. To use the dog ramp, you need to open the safety lock. The ramp for dogs should be placed carefully to ensure the rubber feet are planted evenly. Ensure you close the safety lock by folding up the ramp again.

Brand: Kurgo

👤After reading Jeep forums, I settled on a ramp for my older pit bull because my Jeep is too high for him. It was too steep and took up a lot of space and the surface was rough on her paws. It looked dirty after one use. I decided to go for a set of stairs and it worked better than before. She can get up and down with less effort and it's easier to use a lighter.

👤There are a lot of good things about this product. My large breed dog is fine getting in and out of my wife's car, but my 2 trucks are considerably higher and she came up limping after exiting the truck. This was not going to be a good situation for her. Either. I researched ramps and settled on this. One of the reviews mentioned how they trained their dog to use the porch steps. She used it confidently entering and exiting the trucks. She's 80 lbs and it's strong. I have used it 10 times now and can confidently say that it is a quality product that makes transporting my dog safer.

👤Our little guy is 15 years old and he is having trouble getting up and down steps. The ramp we bought works perfectly for him. Even though he is almost blind, he was able to see it because it is red. We are very happy with our purchase.

👤We use the ramp and stairs to help our dog. I wish it were wider. Our dog is 70 pounds and has bad hips. He has broad shoulders so we are asking a lot of him to navigate a tight passage.

👤The ramp was received today. I took my dog less than 3 minutes to learn to walk up and down the ramp. He is a big boy. The pit mix is a lab/ lab mix. The ramp is sturdy and has a lot of grip. I have a Jeep that is not lifted yet. The ramp is not too heavy. It folds nicely. Lifting his back end into the jeep is not a good idea. Very happy so far.

👤This was perfect for my dog who suddenly lost his sight. It only took one day for him to use it in his own. The lip is on the side. We can leave it on the steps and still have room to use them.

👤Our dog has a disease that makes it hard for him to get in and out of the car. It's rated for 200 lbs, but it's wobbly. The dog is 120 lbs. He scratched his nuckles to the blood when he tried to use this. Nobody thought of taking pictures when we focused on him. This may work for a small dog, but not for a large dog.

👤This ramp has been used for the past 5 years. She was able to go up easily when she was younger. It is too steep from the ground to the SUV. We put the stool against the bumper because we have a 10” high stool. We put the high end of the ramp on it. Our dog can jump from the top of the ramp into the SUV with ease. Works well. The stool is on. On the side of the ramp. Stand by our original review. I read three pages of reviews before I saw this ramp. Some of the ramps had good reviews, but the 2 and 1 star comments were completely uninviting! Things like my dog cut itself and needed stitches, and parts were off and lying in the bottom of the box, and it was much heavier and awkward than I expected. Look no further! This ramp works. I do agility with my black Lab who is 63 lbs so she thinks all ramps are a game, however, after an accident where our car is in the shop possibility totaled, we ended up with a rental SUV whose rear floor is so high that jumping out for a month or more would be This is the ramp for us and we needed it. It wouldn't be too steep if we had measured in advance 60" so it wouldn't be too heavy. The surface they use is similar to what many reviewers noted, but it works well. Our dog runs and walks beautifully when practicing on our back stairs. The plastic has nice round shoulders. Good product.

Brand: Niubya

👤I bought this for my wife's service dog to help her get in and out of the SUV. Since the service dog goes with her everywhere, I wanted to reduce the impact the joints have when she jumps into and out of the SUV, so I purchased these stairs. The stairs are very lightweight. The grips on the stairs make the dog feel comfortable. My wife can operate the stairs with one hand and fold them back up with the other. The dog got used to the stairs with a few treats. It comes with a D-ring that you can clip onto the car so that the stairs never slip from the car. My wife has a baby seat in the back of her SUV that we attach the D-ring to so it always connects. You can attach the D-ring to the latch if you don't have an anchor. When you shut the trunk, you will have to unclip it. The Veterinarian approves of the stairs.

👤I have a dog with arthritis who can't jump on and off the SUV. He is about 80 lbs. The ramp made it so easy to drive from CA to VA. It would have been difficult to carry him on and off the SUV 4 times a day. This is the best ramp I have owned. It took him just 10 minutes to get used to it, it was very light and comfortable on my dog's paws, and it was easy to fold and unfold. He likes it. We use it to go to the park and pet store, I can now take him with me everywhere. This thing is awesome.

👤It's easy to set up. It works perfectly on my lift excursion. Dogs are not going to break their legs. It's solid. No flexing under my biggest dog.

👤The steps will be heavier when put on. When I tried them,130 lbs, before my dog did, they slipped down from the bed where I had them positioned and left a large chunk of skin on my foot. It was very painful. A small dogs legs could have been broken. I don't recommend them. There are some instructions that didn't make it to my set.

👤It's easy to set up and store in the car. The platforms are too narrow for my dog. She would like the steps to be 3 or so long so she can see more of something when she needs to come down. She tries to avoid them by jumping. I bought the 6 platform version since I have a tall SUV and it fits perfect, but my big dog would do better with bigger steps.

👤I assumed that this would make it easier for my dogs because they are used to stairs, but they were hesitant at first but figured it out and it is very easy to put up and take down. My dogs are very large and they have saved my life.

👤Our dog was sick with cancer. It was difficult to get her out of the vehicle at 80 lbs. This ramp is great. Dogs can handle it because it is not too steep.

👤I bought this because my pitbull puppy was getting big enough for me to lift him in and out of my truck multiple times a day, these stairs are light and fold up quickly, and I use them for work as a truck driver.

👤Excellent for my dogs. I love that it folds up. It's much easier to transport in my truck. My dogs now use it without any issues and they know when the steps get pulled out, it's potty time. The frame seems sturdy and the covering doesn't get slippery in the rain, which is great and the biggest worry I had with all the ramps. I was worried about the joints of my dogs jumping in and out of the big rig. The stairs reach to the top step so not all the way to the top but still enough that the last little hop is not as bad as the height to the ground. I recommend it for all my drivers.

👤Two dogs are over 80 lbs. They can get in the bed of my F250 without me having to pick them up. They can get down without hurting their hips. This is a great product.

👤It would work better if it were 6” wider to make sure the dog doesn't step off the stair. I have a German shepherd and I don't think it would be the same issue with a smaller dog. If the bottom of the stairs flared out wider for the initial ascent, it would be great because I have to keep my dog lined up so she can go up the stairs properly.

👤Still trying to get the dogs to go up on their own. It's easier to lift 80 lbs of dog into a truck.

👤I can't give it 5 stars because I have only had it a few days, but my Basset Hound is thrilled to get to go more in my Mule. I don't have to pick her up off of the ground because she has a very hard time. I am very happy with its weight and ability to spread out. It was in one day.

👤This is a really nice case for my lager. It took him a few times to trust it. He did it and it worked well. It is spherical and light. It will last a long time.

👤I needed a way to get my dogs into the back of a truck. I had to teach the dogs how to climb up the stairs with this method. They don't know how to climb down the stairs.

7. Niubya Foldable Aluminum Lightweight Supports

Niubya Foldable Aluminum Lightweight Supports

Pets are not allowed to slip on the steps when climbing them. Double protection for their dogs can be offered by tether on the tailgate. Protect their knee from injury is the best gift for their pets. The stairs for dogs can be folded down into a small box of 17” x 13” x 6” It can be used indoors and outdoors with a handle. Just wipe down with a wet towel. There are tips. Niubye foldable dog steps are great for your pet. Please make sure the door opening clearance is greater than 18.

Brand: Niubya

👤The dog went into the truck. The dog went down. The steps were extended and the dog easily ascended them. Thank you for building this human race, she could decend with grace. The dog is a big baby and she loved the stairs.

👤These are the steps that I love! I tried to use a ramp for my dog, but it didn't work for her or me. It was too big to fit in the car. My rottie wouldn't use the 2 step version that I ordered. The third time is the charm. These steps are great. I have been using them daily for about a month. My big rottie went up and down them without any problems. They are light enough for me to carry around with me. It's compact enough to carry with me in the car. I tested them with my weight and they were fine. I will get more if these ever get damaged or worn out.

👤I can't get the pictures to turn straight. She loves it, but it is not an option anymore as a senior. Very sturdy and well made. It folds up so you don't have a lot of space. I would buy it again if needed.

👤We need these for our greyhound. He can't jump up into the back of the SUV because it hurts his front legs. He learned to use the steps confidently in about 6 days. This is a short time for a racer who never had to use stairs. He goes up and down them with ease. If you have a large dog, recommend them.

👤The cheaper step lasted about 6 months before the screws started coming out. I bought the Niubya Dog Steps after trying a ramp but it was too heavy and awkward, so I spent a bit more to get it. My 10 year old German Shepherd does a wonderful job with it. The steps are worth every penny.

👤My 100# yellow lab is doing great thanks to the steps. It took a few treats to get her to use them. You can teach an old dog new tricks. She easily gets into and out of my 4Runner. I have to block her way so she can use the stairs because she still wants to jump in and out. I like how they fold up and fit into the back of my car. The product was very well made.

👤It is too slippery for our dog to walk up. She tried to get something to make it easier for her to get in the back of the SUV. It was too steep for her to go down if it had rubber or a non-slip surface. Our small dog was unable to navigate it due to its slippery surface. Very disappointed.

👤Where has this been all my life? My dog goes up and down with ease because it is so easy to use. My dog is not being lifted into the back of my SUV. We put a small pad over the edge so we don't ding up the bumper, but we are not sure if that is necessary. It's a back saver and we were very happy to find it.

Brand: Petmaker

👤Once my 75 lbs. Shepherd slid on the concrete driveway after taking one step from my SUV. I tried to put my foot at the bottom to stop it from sliding, but it was difficult for the dog. There is a change in design that will prevent it from sliding. I can't recommend this product. The other parts of the product are exceptional. Sturdy, well built ramp that is easy to store and not too steep.

👤I don't like giving reviews with less than 5 stars. Sometimes you have to. I read the reviews and saw that some people said the ramp slid off the bumper and the dog didn't like it. I decided to buy it. I would find a way to keep it from sliding off. If you don't use the cable hooks, the ramp can come off the tailgate if you don't use it. I decided to put the ramp on the step of my truck because I wanted it to stay on the step as the dog ran up or down. But... The ramp can still slide sideways with the straps on. My dog would go straight up or down the ramp, so I didn't worry about the sideways issue. Well... She didn't understand the first time I tried to get her to go up the ramp. I tried to get her to the end of the ramp. She tried to get on the ramp from the side, but I was able to stop her. She freaked out when it slid a tiny bit. No Dice was the only way I could get her to forget that experience and do it the right way. She was done with that. She was not going to fall for that again. The manufacturer needs to come up with something for the underside of the ramp that won't slide since cars and applications are so different. $55 was wasted since they haven't yet, and I just had one chance to think of everything, and I missed the side-slide. Someone wants to buy a dog ramp. I will make you a good deal.

👤I gave this product 3 stars out of 5 because we had to add bristly carpet to the top because it was too slippery for our dogs. The dogs felt very unsure because they slipped ALOT going up, because there is a training period while they got used to it. It was like night and day after we added the carpet. Our dogs must feel very secure and have no problem using it. I recommend this product because it is sturdy and lightweight, but I feel it will need modification for dogs to be comfortable with it.

👤I have a Boxer who is 12 1/2 years old. I have had back surgery and she can't jump up anymore, so I can't pick her up. I used the ramp in the house to get her on the bed. I had to put a collar on her and force her to go up the ramp. She came down on her own without much assistance. I took her to the vet on the 5th day and used the ramp. She did well. The ramp is easy to put in the back of my car. I opened the back door so she could get in that way if she wanted to. I could put it in the back if she is comfortable with the ramp. It's too steep right now. I would recommend this ramp!

👤I bought this for my large Lab mix who was too big to fit in my car. I wanted it to help him transition from ground to vehicle after back surgery. After several days of gradual habituation, he had no fear in using it because he was too heavy for me to lift. The surface is not like sand paper. He never lost his footing, which would have frightened him. It was wide enough to make him and me comfortable with footing, since his hindquarters were losing coordination due to the back problem. I put the ramp on the floor in the hallway where he would have to walk over it to get to where he wanted to go. I opened it all the way after two days. I put the double length on the first step of my stairway to the upstairs where we all sleep. He had to walk up the ramp to the second step because I blocked the sides. I put it on the second step after opening it all the way. I put it on the third step the next two nights. I made it a routine part of his access to areas he wanted to go to. I walked on it so he could follow me. I told him to walk all the way into the cargo area of the car after introducing the ramp into the vehicle. He did it without a second thought. I took him to a lake with a path for a walk. He associated the ramp with a new freedom to be able to get into the car again and go somewhere fun. He knew that the ramp would allow him to go with me wherever he wanted. He did not separate the experience of the ramp from the vet office by loading it with pleasant experiences before the hospital trip. Mission accomplished! The product is sturdy, wide, non-slip, and a great way to instill fear in a dog. It's easy to store and fold up. No bounce when the sections are folded all the way out. It was sight unseen. I am very impressed! Good value price too.

👤It took 10 minutes. The other box was opened. I feel like christmas. No, no. Betty, our 115lb mastiff, began to walk up, bowed, and tried to get up the ramp, but she was in a panic. The grip-tape is shredded through a grater. Her hair was stuck to the grip-tape-sand-paper because it was most similar to a 110 grit sandpaper. Poorly built. I don't like to leave negatives. Sending back and boxing. I know what happened before our trip. It is inexpensive. You get what you pay for.

👤We use a Jeep Wrangler as a tow vehicle for our camper and I have 2 large goldens. When we need to take the pups somewhere, they are very picky about whether or not they will jump into the back of the Jeep. Since my Jeep is black and they both have cream/white fur, I don't want them to ride in the back seat because we'll never be able to have people who would want to sit in that hairy mess! I have been able to get the dogs into the back of the Jeep with the help of this ramp. It's lightweight and sturdy so that I can hold both dogs with one hand and set up the ramp with the other hand and just march them up the ramp into the back. It folds up nicely and has a handle that allows me to stick it in either the back with the dogs or on the floor of the back seat.

The folds in half are easy to use and portable. The advanced plastic construction can hold up to 500 lbs. Will not rust and can be cleaned with soap and water. It reduces arthritis and dysplasia pain.

👤I bought this two months ago after my second aluminum extending ramp failed on me in two years. I rescue, adopt, and rehabilitate giant breed dogs, so this ramp is a serious daily workout at my house. My dogs range in size from 100 to 200 pounds. I am very pleased with the ramp. The rubber-like compound on the surface is very easy to use on the paws of a dog. The ramp is sturdy, well designed, and well built. The ramp is easy to unfold and fold. The folding ramp is easy to use, even though it is about the same weight as the other comparable ramps, and I find it easier to use than the extended aluminum ramps that I have had in the past. This ramp is easy to clean. The ramp is wide enough for my giant breeds, but I wouldn't want it any narrower, and would appreciate it if it were an inch or two wider. I haven't had any dogs slip of the ramp, even those with arthritis. I have been with dogs ramps for 23 years and this is the only one I recommend.

👤I have an 80lb lab. He didn't learn to ride in a car until he was an adult. Since we have had him, he has always been weary of new things. When he learned that rides meant going to fun places, the only issue was getting him in my SUV, so we would have to lift him. He was afraid of falling when he got in the car, and he was intimidated by it. I was very specific when choosing a ramp for him. I didn't want him to panic because it had to be very stable and not bow at all when he stepped on it. I wanted to be able to physically attach it to my car so it wouldn't slip. There was no grip on the paper. If he panicked, I wanted his feet to be torn up or he wouldn't touch another ramp. There were reviews of torn up paw pads on other ramps. I don't think I should have to modify it if I'm paying over $50. This was a big deal for me. . As long as I was able to set it up, I was fine with a little heavier ramp. Extra leg work didn't bother me. I was able to set it up just fine, I am 5'4" and 120 lbs. I found videos of Bernese mountain dogs on a ramp and it was very stable. I knew there was no sandpaper. My only concern was attaching this to my car. I bought thin tie down cords from Home Depot. The little spring for holding the ramp together when closed had rubber over it. I slipped that over the metal part of the trunk door. That was perfect. When I set it up, it felt stable. I didn't need the tie downs I bought. My dog was getting to use it. It was difficult to get him up the first time, he was scared but the ramp was solid for him. He had to make a trail of treats to get him down. He was walking up and down on his own after he realized it was stable and safe. He looked at me and said, "Let's go!" I was so happy to see this dog, who has struggled with trusting new people and gaining his confidence when doing anything new, be excited about getting in the car. Thank you, Pete!

Brand: Zerria

👤I bought the stairs for my house. To be able to get into an F-150. I don't know how long the stairs will last because I only used them for two days. They seem to be well made. They are light in weight and easy to fold up. They would work for a bigger truck than I do. They have nice handles that won't scratch the car. I love them.

👤One handed flips are well made. The dog took to it and wasn't afraid. I've spent a lot of money on different ramps and this stair step was my solution.

👤Sturdy. Our 11 month old Doberman and 6 month old Aussie-Border are easy to walk up and down. It was well made. They are used for our truck and dog bath.

👤Even with one hand, it's easy to hold the leash.

👤They are easy to fold out. Don't take up a lot of room. The floor behind the seat was perfect for them.
