is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of Belgian Shepherds, the Malinois, the Groenendael (Belgian Sheepdog), the Tervuren, and the Laekenois. There are always dogs available for adoption to approved homes. Our "wards" come from many different places. Some are rescues from the municipal shelters. Some are turned in by their owners. Some are even from breeders requesting assistance. The reasons can vary greatly. Regardless of how they enter the system, the most important thing is that the dog is properly evaluated, trained, and placed in a home where the dog's and the owner's needs are compatible. Although the adoption process may be a slow one, the right relationship between dog and owner is well worth the wait.
Unlike some rescues who will ship a dog cross country, ResQ Belgians prefers to personally visit your home with the dog as the last step in the adoption process. This allows you to meet and interact with the dog prior to signing any adoption agreement. Therefore we prefer to adopt to people residing within a FIVE hour drive (one way) of New York City. Should you reside outside that area, you will be referred to a reputable rescue agency who may be able to serve you better.
Take a moment to look thru our site. Perhaps you will find a Belgian to love.
If you are looking to adopt, please include a phone number and the best time to call.
